Anytime Fitness Marketing: What Owners Ask Us

30 Sep 2026 | By: Aaron Briggs

Owning an Anytime Fitness club means you get a world-class brand behind you. It also means a few extra questions when it comes to marketing.

We spent ten years inside the network before Digi existed, as club managers, presale managers and owners. Now we’re a preferred supplier to Anytime Fitness and work with more than 200 locations.

So we hear the same questions a lot. Here are the answers we give owners on a first call, in plain English.

Can I run my own ads as an Anytime Fitness owner?

Yes, local clubs run their own local marketing. The key is doing it within the brand guidelines, so your ads feel like Anytime Fitness while still being about your club.

Plenty of owners start out running Facebook ads themselves. Some do a decent job. Most find that between running the club, managing staff and chasing leads, the ads get whatever time is left over, which usually isn’t much.

That’s where a partner who knows the brand helps. Not because you can’t do it, but because it frees you up to do the things only you can do.

How do brand guidelines and approvals work for local ads?

The network has brand standards and an approval process for local marketing. Working with a team that already knows them saves a lot of back and forth.

The guidelines exist for good reason. They keep the brand looking premium everywhere, which helps every club. But if you’re learning them as you go, it can slow your campaigns right down.

Because we’ve worked inside the network and with hundreds of locations, we build campaigns that fit the brand from the start. Less waiting, fewer rewrites, more time actually in market.

Going it alone
  • Learning the guidelines as you go
  • Ads squeezed in around running the club
  • Generic or stock creative
  • Hard to know what’s working
With a partner who knows the brand
  • Campaigns built on brand from day one
  • Your time back for the club
  • Content shot in your club, with your team
  • Weekly reporting on leads and members

What does “preferred supplier” mean for my club?

It means we’re a recognised marketing partner to Anytime Fitness, and have been since 2023. For you, that means a team that already understands the brand, the systems and the way clubs run.

It’s not a badge we take lightly. It reflects years of results across the network, from record-breaking presales to clubs that keep growing month after month.

Practically, it means you’re not paying an agency to learn your business on your time.

How much should an Anytime Fitness club spend on marketing each month?

It depends on your territory, your competition and where your club is at. We plan around net member growth and cost per member, not a fixed dollar amount.

A club in presale needs a very different spend to an established club defending its patch from a new competitor. Seasonality matters too. January and the lead-up to summer are very different to the middle of winter.

What we always do is tie the spend back to members. If you know what a member is worth to you and what it costs to win one, the right budget becomes a lot clearer.

How do I market a club opening near another Anytime Fitness?

Treat it as growing the brand in the area, not stealing from the club down the road. Tight targeting and a clear local story let both clubs grow.

We did exactly this with Logan Reserve, a new club just 2km from an existing Anytime Fitness. The brief was to open strong without hurting the neighbour.

We used precise local targeting, messaging built around the new club’s own community, and close coordination between both teams. Logan Reserve became the largest presale of 2024, and both clubs kept moving forward.

Can I use network content, or do I need my own?

Use both. Network content keeps you on brand, and your own content shows locals the actual club, team and people they’ll train with.

Brand content is great for setting the tone. But people join a club because of the people in it. Your coaches, your members and your space are what make someone pick you over the gym across the road.

That’s why we shoot in your club, with your team. It’s also why our Anytime Fitness clients get access to content from across our ecosystem to fill gaps between shoots.

What does local area marketing look like for a 24/7 club?

It’s everything that connects your club to the suburb around it: local partnerships, community events, school and business connections, and ads that feel genuinely local.

Digital ads do the heavy lifting these days, but the clubs that really thrive are the ones that feel part of the community. The local café that hands out your guest passes. The netball club you sponsor. The fun run you turn up to.

We plan both together, so your online and offline marketing tell the same story.
